National Lead: For Knowledge Mobilization and Strategic Initiatives

Dr. Shawn Lennie is the National Lead for Knowledge Mobilization and Strategic Initiatives at Apple Education Canada. Through this work he has the privilege of working with educational organizations across the country (k-20) that leverage Apple technology to expand what’s possible for learning, create new opportunities for teaching, and establish dynamic environments that inspire both. He also believes in the critical role that data (big and small) can play in providing insight into the impact of school and the transformative power power of evidence based storytelling.

After receiving his PhD in Curriculum Teaching and Learning and Knowledge, Media and Design, he served as an Adjunct Professor at Ontario Tech University (formerly the University of Ontario Institute of Technology) and Associate Professor at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and nurtured an interest in the role that technology can play in transforming how we define “schooling”. This academic pursuit motivated a critical examination of the ways in which learning environments and organizational culture shape the story of school.

He considers time to be a gift that we we give and invites all educators, learners, families and organizations who participate in the process of education to take time to connect, reflect and re-imagine what schools have been, are, and could be, so that we can foster a community of future ready citizens.
